The MEL® 90 is designed to perform various refractive corneal procedures including PRK. PRK surface ablation can be used to correct myopia within a range of up to -12 D, and up to -3 D astigmatism and hyperopia within a range of up to +3 D, and up to +3 D astigmatism. For surface ablations the MEL 90 uses an extra gentle mode which includes adaptation of the plume removal air flow.
